Autotel Update Work Around-

If your update is not installing correctly, here is a work around method to update.

Please note, this is valid for Autotel Version 4.X or higher where the X can represent
any combination. For example, 4.2 or 4.3.5

Also, please note that this work around has several issues.
First, if you have saved any estimates using the Work Estimate feature, you will lose
this information.

Second, you will also lose data pertaining to your company information. For example,
you will have to re-enter your business name, address, labor and tax rates.

 

To update Autotel when the update is not installing correctly on your computer,
do the follwing steps:

Using Windows Explorer,
click on your CD drive
to view the contents.

Find the folder where
Autotel is installed
(Shown here is the
default
"C:\program files
\autotel"
Copy the two files
atgallery.exe and
autotel.exe to the
autotel folder.

When asked whether
you want to replace
the file(s) click Yes.

Next

Open the the Data folder
on the CD.

Copy the files to the
Autotel/Data folder

Atcompany.mdb
Autotel.mdb

 

When asked whether
you want to replace
the file(s) click Yes.

Next

You are now going to unzip the Gallery files.

 

Go back to the CD folder, (back up one folder)
and find the file gallery.exe.

Double click the file, the window to the left
will show.
You will need to type in the folder name
"Unzip to folder:" or use browse to find the
folder "c:\program files\autotel\gallery".
Once this is done, click the "Unzip" button.

This program will extract the picture files to
the Autotel gallery folder.

Next

You are now going to unzip the Tumbler
Location files just as you did the Gallery filles.

 

Find the file tumloc.exe on the CD.

Double click the file, the window to the left
will show.
You will need to type in the folder name
"Unzip to folder:" or use Browse to find the
folder "c:\program files\autotel\tumlocations".
Once this is done, click the "Unzip" button.

This program will extract the files to
the Autotel TumLocations folder.

You can now run Autotel as you have before.
Once you launch the program, be sure to enter your company information

Clicking the menu button will open
the Company Setup window.

Enter your data.
